Latest research into attitudes towards sun protection in Australia
My most recent internationally published article documents the attitudes towards sun protection of attendees to dermatology clinics. It demonstrates that whilst we are aware of the need to sun protect and the ways to sun protect, unfortunately we are still not implementing this message well. It is especially disappointing to see the incidence of sunburn in 18-30 year olds, which means the sun protection messages is failing at times.
Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer and melanoma in the world. It is important that we make sun awareness and sun protection part of our everyday: winter, spring, summer and autumn.
